Rapid Draw Help 

Menu 

File

Open – Choose an existing Rapid Drawing file (.rdw) to open 

Save – Save the current Rapid Drawing file 

Save as bmp – Save the current Rapid Drawing file as a bmp file 

Insert – Find a bmp file to insert as a background 

Exit – Exit the program 

Line

Choose the thickness of the line you want to draw 

Color 

Choose the color of the line you want to draw 

Pattern 

Line – a new curve will be drawn as a straight line 

Rotation – a new curve will be drawn as a curve the same shape as the previous one 

Background 

On – Inserted bmp file is visible 

Off – Inserted bmp file is invisible 

Straight Line 

Selected curve will be converted to a straight line 

Start

1. To draw a straight line click two points

2. Click any point and drag to change this line into a curve

3. To draw a new curve, double-click or right-click, then choose two points.

4. Left arrow key - select prior object

5. Right arrow key - select next object

6. Click Shift key once to move the left point. A blue square will appear on the left side of the curve. Click and drag to move to a new location

7. Click Z key once to move the right point. A blue square will appear on the right side of the curve. Click and drag to move to a new location.

Changing the shape of the curve: 

a. To move the left side of the curve: 

o Click Ctrl key once, a blue dot will appear on the left side of the curve. Click and drag to move 

 

o Click Ctrl key twice, an aqua dot will appear on the left side of the curve. Click and drag to move 

                                       the left side of the curve a small amount  - fixed slope

o Click Ctrl key three times, a green dot will appear on the left side of the curve. Click and drag  to  

                                                  move the left side of the curve a smaller amount  - more fixed slope

 

 

b. To move the middle of the curve: 

o Click space key once, a blue dot will appear on both sides of the curve. Click and drag to move 

 

o Click space key twice, an aqua dot will appear on both sides of the curve. Click and drag to move

                                           the middle of the curve a small amount  - fixed slope

o Click space key three times, a green dot will appear on both sides of the curve. Click and drag to   

                                                      move the middle of the curve a smaller amount  - more fixed slope

 

 

c. To move the right side of the curve: 

o Click Alt key once, a blue dot will appear on the right side of the curve. Click and drag to move 

 

o Click Alt key twice, an aqua dot will appear on the right side of the curve. Click and drag to move

                                      the right side of the curve a small amount  - fixed slope

o Click Alt key three times, a green dot will appear on the right side of the curve. Click and drag to  

                                                move the right side of the curve a smaller amount  - more fixed slope

 

  ※ Sequence:      

             (Click space key once) => Click Ctrl key once => Click Alt key once => (Click space key twice) 

              => Click Ctrl key twice => Click Alt key twice
